The Broadway is a proposal for a new BCO Grade A office building in Wimbledon. The site is located in an area where high quality office accommodation is in high demand, driven by the future arrival of Crossrail 2 to an already well connected transport hub in Wimbledon town centre. The five upper floors provide 7000sqm of flexible open plan office space with a further 1600sqm of A3 retail at ground level creating an active frontage to the high street.
The building responds to its position within a sensitive Conservation Area and immediately adjacent to the Grade 2 listed Wimbledon Theatre by stepping away at the upper floors. This not only reduces the impact of the massing but provides valuable green roof amenity space for future tenants with views out across Wimbledon.
This project is one of a number that MATT Architecture are currently designing part of a wider masterplan and regeneration of Wimbledon Town Centre.
